Staying cool

We are having some VERY hot days now. Granted anything over 76 is getting to hot for me. So hitting high 80's maybe even 90 is killer for me. Thankfully we have a few window AC's that keep a few rooms cool and help keep the rest of the house form boiling.

We are spending lots of time doing "cool" things: swimming, frozen juice pops, and LOTS of ice water. Many days the babies have  been in nothing but diapers in order to stay cool. Makes for cute pictures in there Fuzzi Bunz cloth diapers.

Lets see... this past week James went back to work. I was a bit worried about Jamie and how he would take mommy being busy with "sister" all the time, BUT Rebecca sleeps like a champ. She is only 13 days old and already on a great schedule. She goes 3-4 hours in between feedings (if Jamie dose not wake her with kisses). She eats great and nothing bothers her when she is eating. I really am blessed with such a great baby.

Jamie loves to help with Rebecca. He was so excited to help give her her first bath. He really is being a great big brother!
He washed  her toes...how cute right?

Can't go without showing Jamie enjoying his birthday gift from my dad. He spends 2 hours on average in it. he loves the water and getting to splash with out mom saying "stop your getting the floor all wet" makes his day.

That's cousin Joey on the left. He came over to play since he is out of school for the summer.

And after a long day in the pool we get refreshed with an grape juice pop!

Fathers Day and back to work

Fathers Day was great!
James has been wanting a Batman t'shirt for a long while now but was never able to find one in his size. So about a month ago I found one online and ordered it for him. He was like a little kid on Christmas when he pulled it out of the gift bag. Now all the Prosky men have Batman t's so we had to take a picture. Oh and they all have motorcycles too so the bikes had to be in the picture!

Best 3 generation picture, right! lol
What good sports I have in my life.

We can't leave out the little princess. Even though she slept most the day away.

Yes it may have been a gas bubble but I was so excited to catch it with the camera.

Well, James is back to work today. We will see how it goes with just me in the house and my 2 little ones. Jamie is being a great big brother. Fussy and demanding at times but I expected that. He asks to hold her all the time and is always sneaking a kiss or two to her.

I feel truly blessed with my little family. HAPPY MONDAY WORLD!

Rebecca is here!!!

Our little girl is here! She is as perfect as any parent could ask for. Big Brother Jamie is adapting. He is a little demanding and in need of extra attention, but over all he is doing great for a 2 year old.

Incase you are interested labor was as easy as labor can be. I was induced because little Rebecca had a 2 vassal umbilical cord. It can cause complications if we where to go past her due date (along with many other worries that we over came during the pregnancy), so the date was set. Labor was just annoying until my water broke. Then the sharp pain started. After about 2 hours of increasing pain I was caving and asked for an epidural (my plan was to not have one, but oh well). So I got my epidural about 3:40. Once it kicked in they checked me and it was time to push. Little Rebecca was here at 4:03 and only about 4 pushes. I feel kind of silly for getting the epidural now but in the moment I did not know I only had 20 minutes left I was anticipating another 2 hours plus. Anyway lesson learned: have them check before getting the epidural next time ;).

Oh, and I forgot to mention how wonderful James was during labor. He made sure I had anything and every thing I needed/asked for. Even though me in pain was making his stomach hurt he stood by me and it was not until after she was here and eating happily that he sat down and I realized how wiped he was.

Anyway here are some pictures of my beautiful little girl and some of the family that where able to come by and enjoy her already.

Waiting and crafting

We are still waiting for little Rebecca to arrive. She seems very content in  her little home, but Monday night they will induce labor. I am a mix of emotions on the whole thing. It still seems unreal some days that we will have 2 kids in this house. I am excited to hold her and see her little face though. I am just not sure if I am really ready for all nighters with a new born and then busy days with an active 2 year old.

Well since finding out that Rebecca will be here for sure by Tuesday I have been getting the house ready. Trying to give it a good deep cleaning so that I only have little things to keep up on for a while after she is born. That way I can focus on my little ones and resting. I have also been finishing some crafts that I have been working on. One of which is Jamie's Micky Mouse hat he requested after seeing a sun hat I made for his little sister.

Here  he is showing it off :)

It turned out really cute, right!
I got the pattern form Joann's on sale for $1.99. It was originally $15!  Butterick B5056 is the pattern I bought and am loving the diversity of the styles. The fabric is from Hobby Lobby. He picked it out himself. I have a feeling we are going to get a lot of use out of this little hat.

One step at a time

We are in the last stretch of demo/removal of junk since our 30 yard roll off is to be picked up tomorrow. We have gotten a lot out. Its hard for me not being able to help out much, but I am doing what I can with little things. We are almost ready to start cleaning the basement and getting it ready for carpet. I am so ready for some extra space. We need it for when the Nephews come over and (now that they are out of school for the summer) stay a week or 2.

I have to say now that we are 38 weeks into this pregnancy and the temperature is rising into the 90's I am ready to be done. I want to play dress up with my little girl and be able to bend to get all the toys off the floor again. Trying to keep up with a 2 year old and 3 grown men while being pregnant is a little more challenging then I had thought it would be. I know that adding a new born will not really make things easier but I will at lest have the flexibility to clean places that are difficult to do right now.

I did get to have a little adult time with some wonderful lady friend this weekend. We went to Archiver's and scrap-booked the night away. It was great to get out of the house and just relax. With all the things going on at the house I needed the distraction for a few hours.

In conclusion of this past week as the temperatures raised here are a few pictures of how Jamie and I kept cool.
Got to love the smile after he tried to get mommy all wet.
